Strong year so far for Yale

Yale has reported a strong first half of the year thanks to the continued development of existing ranges, investment in new products and support of key industry events.

Product innovation has included building on the success of the SensCheck range, with the Mantis 4 multipoint door lock added to the list of products which are now compatible with the integrated smart window and door lock sensors.

Yale also launched a new Lockmaster 25mm backset multi-point lock, designed to suit slim low sightline aluminium systems. The stable door lock range was also expanded with the introduction of 35mm and 45mm Lockmaster 21 composite door lock solutions.

In addition, Yale has collaborated with Epwin, a longstanding customer, and the two businesses worked closely to develop a new PAS 24 patio lock solution.

Compliance with Approved Document F for air quality became mandatory this year. The Yale SlotVent range offers fabricators and installers a solution that ensures they meet the regulations. It is available in a choice of three lengths – each providing a different level of ventilation depending on requirements – and has been expanded to include an even wider range of RAL colours, woodgrain foils, separate inners and outers, and fixings.

A major development this year saw Caldwell Hardware integrated into Yale. Caldwell Hardware has been supplying quality window hardware for more than a century and 2023 marks 50 years since it expanded its manufacturing into the UK market.

Paul Atkinson, managing director at Yale, commented: “It has been a very strong first half of 2023 for product innovation. Caldwell’s integration with Yale has been an obvious development for both brands as it has allowed us to realise synergies and share best practice and create a wider, comprehensive hardware range from one supplier.”

Alongside product developments, Andy Kay was welcomed to the team as the new area sales manager for North East, further strengthening the Yale team as he brings 30 years of experience to the role.

Yale has also supported several industry events this year, including four People in Glazing (PiGs) networking events and the recent Glass Times race day at Haydock Park.

Paul added: “We are looking forward to the upcoming Glazing Summit which will take place at Edgbaston Stadium on Thursday, October 12. It will be the third year in a row that we have been the headline sponsor for this key industry event.

“We’ve had a strong first half of the year in challenging conditions and will continue to build on this for the remainder of 2023. We have further product developments in the pipeline with exciting new hardware launching soon.”
