Heavy duty door delights
Jack Aluminium’s JD47 non-thermal commercial door has been used to replace a tired timber frame at the headquarters of Adullam Homes Housing Association in West Bromwich.
Aluminium Composite Solutions, from Bromsgrove, selected the JD47 door as part of a scheme of improvements at the Housing Association’s HQ. The JD47 door was fitted with a continuous hinge, to achieve an even distribution of the load and improve operational performance. Often used in high-traffic entrances, like on this project at Walter Moore House, the door has been designed and adapted for this bespoke installation.
The anti-finger trap door stile is a round back profile, which is often used in public places like schools and hospitals. As the door pivots, the stile leaves a minimal gap to ensure fingers, clothing or hands cannot accidentally be injured if placed in the way of a closing door.
Tony Adamson, project manager at Aluminium Composite Solutions, said: “At Walter Moore House, we needed a heavy-duty door that was robust, that’s why we selected a JD47 door with a normal door stile and a continuous hinge. It also looked good and offered high performance. Working with the guys at Jack Aluminium is always a pleasure. These products are revolutionary, and they are very straight-forward to fit. What we like about Jack, is that we can place an order and receive products within just a few days. This is really beneficial when you’re working to a strict deadline and want to finish a job.”
