Solutions for coastal properties

PC Henderson offers a range of sliding and folding door hardware systems that guard against elements such as salt spray and sea air.

Seaside destinations have become the most popular overnight holiday locations for Brits with 13.7 million visits in 2015. With this in mind, it is important that proprietors and builders safeguard the security, weather tightness and corrosion risks of their buildings by using door hardware systems that are hard wearing against the elements.

Fergus Pickard, product development director at PC Henderson, said: “It’s important that proprietors in coastal areas recognise the important of installing sliding door hardware that, is not just aesthetically pleasing, but also robust, highly weather resistant and low maintenance in order to meet the performance levels required.

“Not doing so could result in hardware suffering from corrosion which not only looks unsightly but also effects the durability and operation of any system.”

Coastal suitable system from PC Henderson include Soltaire, Securefold and Stainless Steel and have been designed and extensively tested to last with little to no maintenance required.

Soltaire, for example, is made from Marine Grade 316 stainless steel, and the product is able to be used with wooden, aluminium and steel doors weighing up to a maximum of either 120kg, 180kg or 250kg. The system is designed to accommodate multiple doors which can slide to either side or to the same side. An alternative to this would be PC Henderson’s Stainless Steel hardware which is suitable for wooden, aluminium or steel sliding doors weighing up to a maximum of 100kg, 150kg or 270kg.
