Triple success for CMS

CMS Window Systems has been awarded onto Scotland Excel’s new framework as a provider of replacement windows and doors for local authority housing stock across Scotland.

This is the third successful contract award for CMSs’ PVCU division since the start of its new financial year in April 2017, reinforcing the company’s ethos of long-term sustainability.

CMS was selected after submitting its bid via Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) to Scotland Excel for lot 2.8: Replacement of Domestic Windows and Doors and comes hot on the heels of its recent contract award wins with East Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire Councils.

The installation of energy efficient windows and doors across local authority housing stock will improve the energy efficiency of homes and contribute towards the achievement of the Energy Efficiency Standard in Social Housing (EESSH), the standard to which the properties of all social landlords in Scotland are required to meet by 2020.

The emission of greenhouse gases is also reduced which is in line with the requirements set out in the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009.

Craig Reid, contracts director at CMS Window Systems, said: “Being appointed to the Scotland Excel framework agreement for the replacement of windows and doors recognises the successful ethos of our organisation – environmental, social and economic sustainability – and we are delighted to be selected once again as a key supply chain partner for local authorities across Scotland.

“We aim to close-the-loop in everything we do and we divert nearly all of our waste from landfill. Delivering homes which are significantly more energy efficient, more comfortable for occupiers, aesthetically better, safer and more secure is something we’ve been helping housing providers to achieve since our inception in 2006.”
