Pre-reg visitor numbers up

Visitor pre-registration numbers for this year’s FIT Show are tracking at 130% above the level they were for the same period before the 2019 event.

The announcement follows the easing of lockdown restrictions across the UK, with the country entering the penultimate phase of the UK government’s ‘roadmap to recovery’, with all restrictions lifted from June 21.

Event director Nickie West said: “Our visitor pre-registration data is a key indicator that people are ready to get back to face-to-face business, but, most importantly, that they are ready to get back to FIT Show.”

FIT Show will return to the NEC Birmingham on September 26-28, 2021. The event, which is free to attend, will see more than 200 brands from the home improvement industry showcase the latest products on the market for the first time since 2019.

“After a very difficult year, it’s time to dust ourselves off, get back out there and build back stronger,” Nickie said. “We are pulling out all of the stops to ensure that FIT Show delivers a safe and successful platform for our industry to get back to doing what it does best.

“The new Sunday opening is a further opportunity for visitors to attend the show without the need to take time off the tools or out from the office by making a weekend visit. The uplift in early pre-registration data has been positively impacted by this.”

April was the biggest month for exhibitor sign ups since January, a full list of which can be found on the website.

“For many, FIT Show is the first opportunity to see, touch and compare the latest products on the market side-by-side,” Nickie said. “Our exhibitors are already reporting that there will be more new products and innovations on display than any previous FIT Show. It’s an exciting time for the whole industry as we work towards reconnecting face to face.

“We’ve got so much to look forward to, and with the government’s new ‘super deduction’ allowing companies to benefit from huge tax savings on new plant and machinery assets, there are more reasons than ever to visit FIT Show and make those all-important purchases.”
