Glazerite invests in operations

The Glazerite UK Group has made nearly £1million of key investments at three of its sites.

The company’s North West Division is set to welcome new manufacturing equipment in the first half of this year, enabling the Bolton-based site to increase capacity and further improve on capability and quality for its installer customers.

The investment includes a Pertici V-Notch saw, a Pertici double head mitre saw, and a Stuga ZX5S sawing and machining centre.

Glazerite’s Midlands Division in Wellingborough is set to benefit from a new DIGI-X auto bead saw and an Urban corner cleaner, while the fabricator’s Peterborough-based East Division is also taking receipt of a Pertici double head mitre saw, which will be used on its Halo portfolio.

Darren Rhodes, managing director Glazerite North West, said: “By adding more machinery and replacing older equipment, we’re able to increase capacity and improve flexibility across our operations, which will ultimately benefit our customers.

“The new Stuga ZX5S will increase capacity by a third while the Pertici double head mitre saws allow for greater accuracy and removes manual processes. Our new equipment will give us better control, accuracy in use, and increased capacity while improving quality for our installers.”

Glazerite also has plans to enhance its fleet of delivery vehicles this year and continues to invest in its people, with a management training programme for its workforce about to be rolled out. As part of its environmental strategy, the fabricator is also focused on reducing waste across the Group, with initiatives being driven in parallel with its lean manufacturing approach to improve consistency, quality, and operational efficiencies.

Darren added: “Our investment programme underlines our ambitions and continues in spite of the backdrop of rising prices and escalating raw material and labour costs. Glazerite is in it for the long haul; that means we’ll continue to pour investment into our operations so that we can provide our customers with the highest quality products and exceptional service they need to succeed in their own markets.”
