DoorCo wins at 2023 UK Manufacturing Awards

DoorCo has won the Fastest Growing Team category at the Business Award UK’s 2023 UK Manufacturing Awards.

In competition against 25 national manufacturers, DoorCo says that its win emphasises the ‘outstanding teamwork and commitment’ at its Macclesfield factory.

Aaron Williamson, head of manufacturing, said: “We’ve had some great wins at fenestration awards in competition against our peers, however, to be recognised in the wider manufacturing industry is a real accolade and a testament to our progress.

“When reviewing the categories at this awards, Fastest Growing Team felt like the most natural fit. As a business, we’ve been growing at a substantial rate on the whole, but particularly on the manufacturing side. We’ve welcomed a body of new team members whilst our investment project has been ongoing, so to be able to present the success and benefits of this growth, and be recognised for it, is brilliant.”

Chris Mansfield, DoorCo’s manufacturing manager, commented: “We’re a tight knit team here at DoorCo and working towards a mutual goal of constant improvement and innovation is what unites us.

“The manufacturing team has shown impressive agility and resilience over the past couple of years as we’ve embarked on the development of our manufacturing offering. It’s been a busy time with new equipment being delivered, the manufacturing space reworked, new processes and principles implemented and of course, new team members joining us.

“It’s been a period of positive and at times challenging change, but the team have shown an impressive commitment to the cause and embraced what we’re all here to do.

“We’re now successfully operating our two separate manufacturing cells with the addition of our sixth CNC, third paint line and third wrapper. The appointments of Abbie Lever and Paul Gill as cell managers have been invaluable, alongside our new force of team leaders who ensure the day-to-day running is operating at its best.”

DoorCo continues to bolster its manufacturing offering with a further factory move on the horizon that will further improve efficiencies, and create space for even more machinery for continued increased capacity.
