Celebrating 21 years of partnership

After 21 years of window and door fabrication in Coventry, U-Fit is celebrating the milestone with a new brand and name: Armstrong Industries.

Since its inception in 1996, Armstrong Industries has been fabricating PVCU window and doors using Synseal’s Shield profile, later also adopting the sculptured ovolo SynerJy profile, and more recently the fabricator has also become a distributor for the Masterdor Craftsman range of timber doors.

John Armstrong, managing director at Armstrong Industries, said: “It’s quite a milestone these days to achieve a trading relationship of this duration. There aren’t many businesses in this industry that can say they have been around as long as 21 years, and even fewer who can say they have been working with the same supplier throughout that period.

“Since our inception Synseal has always offered us sterling service and have listened to our needs as a fabricator. The Shield profile has undergone a few changes in those years but it shows that as a supplier they are responding to the way the market is changing and continually improving their products.”

The latest development at Armstrong Industries is a state-of-the-art spray line with the capacity to spray a meter of profile every minute in any colour.

“The way the market is going, our customers are looking for individualisation and this is particularly true in terms of colour,” John said. “We are seeing many customers who want a combination of any matt colour internally, with a 7015 or 7016 grey on the exterior to give the look of aluminium while maintaining the thermal efficiency and lower cost of PVCU.

“This demand will determine the direction of the industry and we’re already ahead of the game by being able to spray practically any colour directly onto PVCU profile with our own in-house spray line.”
