Piggy in the middle

Andy Ball, managing director of Balls2 Marketing, talks about the best opportunity for networking on the glazing industry calendar.

Are you a Pig? If you aren’t, then you probably should be. Pigs (the People In Glazing Society) is the networking event for the glazing industry. Balls2 Marketing took over the event organisation in April 2014, and since then it has grown to be more inclusive, attract more Pigs, and be a great place to make and maintain good business relationships.

Pigs is open to everyone in the glazing industry – we say the more the merrier. And merry is the right word, because our generous sponsors each donate £100, which goes straight behind the bar. When it’s gone, it’s gone. At our last event, in Birmingham, we had 39 sponsors, so it’s a decent free bar to have a go at, even with the glazing industry’s level of socialising.

The fantastic thing about Pigs is the conversations you can have, sometimes with people you would never have considered getting in touch with before. We get lots of feedback from attendees saying how many great opportunities they’ve had come through because of a chance meeting at Pigs.

For others, it’s more about catching up on what’s happening in the industry overall and where new opportunities might be for them. And for some, it’s just for a good chat with industry friends who they don’t get to see very often.

This year, there will be four Pigs events. They’re spread around the country, to be as convenient as possible for everyone. The first is in Manchester, then London, Glasgow, and the final one in Birmingham – usually the busiest because of its central location.

If Pigs sounds like your kind of thing, why not try it out? We’re kicking off #Pigs18 at The Castlefield Rooms in Manchester on Thursday 1 March. It’s free to attend, just register for your ticket at www.balls2marketing.co.uk/pigs. Or, if you would like to sponsor, for just £100, you can email Sarah on sarah@balls2marketing.com.
