A complete door system

By Adrian Redshaw, product design director, Sheerline.

In the past, when homeowners have looked at doors, they’ve probably picked a front door from one place and bi-folds or patio doors from another. This has led to a mis-match not just of the styling, but also of the features and benefits.

It’s not only frustrating for the homeowner, who might have different hardware or even slightly different coloured doors, but it’s frustrating for installers too. Luckily, we thought about this when developing the Sheerline product range from scratch.

The Sheerline range of doors combine sleek aesthetics, high security, and practical features that are engineered to enhance contemporary living. Every door is Part L compliant, offering standardised double-glazed U-values of 1.4 because of Sheerline’s proprietary Thermlock technology, and are perfectly matched too!

Prestige doors:

Combining stylish aesthetics with practical features homeowners want from their doors, the Prestige range gives homeowners options. For instance, they can choose between single or French doors, three different thresholds, in 12 different standard powder coated colours. Plus, homeowners can easily opt for dual colours too, without adversely effecting lead-times.

In terms of practical features, the Prestige doors offers sightlines as slim as 88mm, enabling homeowners to maximise the amount of natural light flooding a space. This provides architectural refinement, while the company’s patented construction method helps to prevent misaligned corners.

Classic heritage:

One of the newest editions to the Classic range, the Heritage door offers a unique lockbox design inspired by the art déco period. To maximise the amount of natural light, it offers ultra slim sightlines between 60.5 to 73mm.

As with the Prestige door, it’s secure and available in single or French doors.

Featuring Sheerline’s signature stepped look, this versatile product works just as well in a traditional property as in an ultra-modern space that’s embracing industrial styling (think brick walls, steel or copper furniture, and parquet flooring to complete the look). It’s the perfect solution for homeowners who want it all without compromise.

Prestige bi-folds:

Sheerline’s beautifully balanced Prestige bi-folds are the ideal solution for homeowners who want to better connect their indoor living space with the outdoors. Available in stepped or contemporary ‘flat-faced’ styles, these bi-folds can be configured with up to seven sashes, with slim outerframe sightlines of 110mm, they also allow in as much natural light as possible.

While traditional bi-folds may have security weak spots, Sheerline’s include different lock options for optimal security. This includes a bespoke Winkhaus Thunderbolt lock, VBH hardware, and high-security lock upgrades with anti-snap, anti-bump, and anti-pick protection, plus full-length security interlocks.

Prestige lift & slide patio:

No door range would be complete without a high-performance, ultra-secure patio, which is precisely what the Prestige lift & slide patio offers. It operates flawlessly at any size with a maximum width of 6.5m unjointed by 2.5m in height, with sashes up to 400kg thanks to Sheerline’s specialist easy glide hardware.

It offers super slim sightlines up to 31% slimmer than other products on the market. And the added benefit of this patio is that it can be perfectly matched with every other door within the Sheerline range, making it the ideal solution for new builds and renovations that want to combine matching bi-folds and patios as design features.

Does a complete door system really make a difference?

Not only does it help homeowners create a consistent, modern aesthetic throughout the home (that matches and works together), but it enables them to streamline what may have otherwise been a complex renovation, extension, or new build project.
