School’s Santa success

Kingfisher Windows received a ‘thank you’ after helping to support a local school’s annual Christmas event.

Parklands Primary in Seacroft, one of the most deprived areas of Leeds, opened its doors to provide the children and community with a Christmas experience. Businesses, both local and national, donated 1,200 presents and more than £15,000 worth of food to ensure the event was a success.

Dianne McElwee, business manager at Parklands Primary School, said: “What a day December 23 was. We welcomed around 700 visitors to the school and they had a wonderful afternoon, with Santa’s Grotto, a bouncy castle, Christmas lunch and even a life-size polar bear.

“Every child received a fabulous gift and left with a huge smile. We couldn’t do it without the support we receive and so we are hugely grateful.”

Deborah Beeley, sales and marketing manager at Kingfisher, said: “We’re happy to have contributed to that success as it’s important to support worthy local causes like this and put something back into the community.”
