New manufacturing director

Synseal Group has appointed Robert Long as manufacturing director of Synseal’s PVCU and aluminium production.

Rob joins Synseal from the Whittan Group, UK manufacturer of steel storage products, where he spent 18 months as operations manager consolidating the footprint of a £110 million turnover part of their business.

Before this, Rob spent six years at Eurocell as general manager having forged his career in the building materials industry, spending five years in change management and operational management at Tarmac.

Based at Synseal’s headquarters in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, Rob will oversee Synseal’s extrusion operations, as well as production of its conservatory roof products and fabricated WarmCore and Evolve ranges.

He joins recently appointed chief operating officer Mark Timmons as part of a new team dedicated to updating the group’s manufacturing processes to support the continued growth of products like the WarmCore aluminium range, which now includes onsite production of the inline patio door.

“I’m excited to be joining Synseal to help drive through a number of key changes in their manufacturing operations, including the substantial investment they are making in a new, modern warehouse management system,” Rob said.

“I will be working alongside some extremely skilled and increasingly motivated colleagues so am delighted to be part of the team. We will look to implement a continually improving work culture and embed some key organisational principles as we strive to offer the best service to our customers.”
