What do you think of AI?

As Artificial Intelligence expands its reach into our everyday lives, there has been plenty of discussion over the last 6-12 months on how the technology can positively – or negatively – impact our industry.

In fact, AI has been adopted by a number of forward-thinking companies for some time now, and the benefits are wide reaching. This is typically because AI enables businesses to operate more efficiently, or introduce ways of working that would previously not have been possible, freeing up resources that can be deployed elsewhere.

But while many people may have experimented with ChatGPT or started to rely on automated email responses, it would be fair to say that there is still a degree of uncertainty on the practical benefits of AI for glazing industry businesses.

So, in order to shed more light on the potential of AI, and to better understand its potential, AI training and consultancy specialist, thinkivity, has launched an online survey. Open until 1 September, the key findings will be published in a report later this year.

In other news, it was announced last week that German machinery specialist, Stürtz, has entered into insolvency proceedings.

This prompted a statement from Stuga Machinery, which became part of the Stürtz Group in 2022, that it remains ‘fully operational, financially stable, and legally independent.’

Ed Williams, managing director of Stuga, said: “Let me be clear: Stuga continues to trade normally, remains solvent, and is committed to fulfilling all existing customer agreements, service obligations, and new machine installations. We have a strong order book, a stable team, and a clear plan for the future.”
