Building for the future

Real Aluminium has announced that sales of its windows, doors and lantern roofs have grown by more than 300%, which led parent company Customade Group to invest £250,000 in a new 23,000ft2 factory to increase aluminium window production by 60%.

The new production facility at Stonehouse in Gloucestershire will increase Real Aluminium’s production space to 75,000 ft2 in total, and will allow Real Aluminium to boost window production to 800 frames per week, while capacity for aluminium bifolding doors will increase to 300 doors per week.

The investment in plant and machinery will also create 40 new jobs.

Nick Gibbons, Customade Group CEO, said: “Aluminium is dominant in the industry and consumer desire for it is showing no signs of slowing down. The number of installers offering aluminium has risen by more than 40% in the last five years and demand for products like sliding and bifolding doors is predicted to rise once again in 2018.

“Real Aluminium has outperformed all forecasts and this investment into new factory space and machinery was an important strategic development for the future growth of the brand. It will enable us to build significantly on our capacity and supply products that help customers to easily take advantage of the continued demand for aluminium.”
