Nationwide supports Sanctuary project

As part of its ongoing commitment to delivering social value across the communities it serves, Nationwide Windows & Doors has supported Pioneer Group by replacing three old and poorly performing windows at The Sanctuary – a vital community hub in Birmingham.

Located in Castle Vale, The Sanctuary is a welcoming space for local residents to connect, access support, and take part in a wide range of activities. The building plays a central role in helping Pioneer deliver its mission to provide more than just housing, by fostering strong, resilient communities.

“The Sanctuary is the focal point for community activities,” said Leonie Hammond, contracts manager at Pioneer Group. “It’s important that we make the hub welcoming and comfortable, and maintaining the fabric of the building plays a huge part in that. These new windows will not only improve the building’s appearance, but they’ll also help reduce heating costs, which means more resources can be directed towards community support.”

The partnership forms part of Nationwide’s wider social value strategy, which is designed to ensure that every contract it delivers provides tangible benefits to the communities involved.

“Social value isn’t just a buzzword, it’s embedded in everything we do,” said Kevin Caveney, commercial sales director at Nationwide. “We’re proud to support Pioneer with this contribution to a facility that makes a huge difference for local people.”
