Production ramped up
With an increase in popularity of high-end aluminium products, Dekko Window Systems sales director Kurt Greatrex explains how the company is meeting this growing demand.
We have opened a new 25,000ft2 factory dedicated to the production of Räum, our exclusive aluminium range.
This factory brings Dekko’s total manufacturing capacity to 80,000 ft2, and includes state-of-the-art equipment that is manned by highly experienced fabricators.
For the past few years, we have supplied two outstanding PVCU ranges: the Infinity range, which is manufactured using Graf weld technology to deliver a seamless finish across a variety of different doors and windows; and the Residence Collection, a luxury timber-effect window system that can be used to replace original timber windows in heritage properties.
In 2015, we branched out into the aluminium market and launched our Räum range, a luxury collection of aluminium bifolds, patio doors, windows and entrance doors, all of which offer sleek sightlines, smooth operation, and first-class thermal performance.
Since then, this has become a significant portion of the business, and in recent years has fared extremely well thanks to an increasing popularity and demand for aluminium.
In fact, despite the challenges brought on by a national lockdown, there has been a surge in demand for aluminium products, and the past 12 months have been the most successful in Dekko’s history.
Aluminium is becoming more popular in the domestic market, and I believe this trend is set to continue, which is why we decided to open our new factory dedicated exclusively to ramping up the production of our Räum range.
We’re confident that by doing this, we’ll be able to continue to meet the increasing customer demand for high-quality aluminium products.
Räum comes from the German word for space. The range’s windows and doors are created using slimline aluminium frames that optimise natural light intake, creating an enhanced feeling of spaciousness.
Räum bifold doors offer a sleek contemporary appearance, smooth functionality and optimal performance in air and weathertightness, and at up to 3m in height, can be designed to fit almost any space, size or configuration.
This style can be used to replace an existing patio door, or used to open up entire walls, with up to seven panel combinations creating entranceways of up to 7m across. They can also be configured in left, right and split openings, with a traffic door option available for easy access to the outside without having to fully slide open the door.
The doors are tested to PAS 24:2016 standard, and come in double and triple glazed options, offering U-values as low as 1.1W/m2K.
Räum aluminium patio doors combine uninterrupted views, flexible design and fantastic aesthetics, including a cornerless opening which allows you to open up the interior of a property, creating a breath-taking architectural statement.
They are available as either a horizontal triple track sliding door or with a lift and slide opening system (the horizontal sliding system activates when the lock is engaged and slides effortlessly open, while the lift and slide variation is activated once the handle is turned 180º, enabling the whole sliding sash to be raised and slide smoothly along the track). Both systems are durable and energy efficient, suitable for a wide range of residential and commercial applications.
The exclusively designed polyamide thermal break system and multi-chambered profile means Räum patio doors achieve industry leading thermal performance. Combine this with high performance glazing, and they will help keep any house cosy and warm.
Meanwhile, Räum aluminium slimline windows are engineered for uncompromising performance and stunning aesthetics, and thanks to impressive U-values as low as 1.1W/m2K, come with industry leading thermal insulation and weather resistance.
We’re really proud of our Räum range and, as a high-end brand, it really gives installers the opportunity to tap into the luxury side of the aluminium market.
After five years, this range continues to go from strength to strength, and with our new factory allowing us to ramp up production, we’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Räum.
