‘Exceptional’ results

Plastic injection moulding company G-Pack Manufacturing has seen another exceptional year, the company said.

The Glossop-based manufacturer of specialist components for the PVCU windows sector has reported a 20% increase in turnover due to ongoing new product development and increasing customer numbers.

During 2018-19, the new Heavy Duty 70mm frame corner protector was well received with trade fabricators and composite door companies.

This product gives excellent ground clearance and is screw-fixed to two sides to give the best available protection for windows and doors. This component is manufactured from recycled local authority wheelie bins, all sourced sustainably, within a 40-mile radius of G-Pack’s production facility.

New, updated tooling has also recently been commissioned for slotted face drain caps. Even for a straightforward component such as this, it is surprising how much work goes in to getting it right, G-Pack Manufacturing said.

G-Pack MD Steve Barnes said: “We had numerous 3D printed parts made to help with the development and fit of this apparently simple component. Our face drain cap has a very positive fit to a standard slotted 5mm hole and cannot be accidentally removed when frames are cleaned post fitting.

“All G-Pack face drain caps are manufactured from UV resistant ASA. This is the same plastic used conservatory roof cresting and finials. It offers long-term colour fastness and stability. Our face drain caps are UK-manufactured in 16 industry standard colours. All are available ex-stock.”
