UAP through to G23 finals
The strength of UAP’s training and development practices has been recognised by the G23 Awards.
The company’s ‘Training Academy’ is in the running to win the Training and Development Initiative of the Year.
In line with UAP’s ongoing expansion, the Academy offers multiple learning and development opportunities that go beyond traditional training routes. Combining different strands, it focuses on knowledge sharing, developing soft skills and collaboration to upskill, motivate and engage individuals.
From weekly webinars and mentoring through to in-house training courses and ‘quality circles’ a vast range of initiatives and tools are in place to achieve these aims.
Nicola John, director at UAP, said: “The UAP Training Academy was launched in 2020 to deliver more structured training to our people. In line with our recent expansion, it has continued to evolve in the past year. As well as enabling individuals to achieve their full potential, the Academy is driving innovation, efficiency and performance improvements across UAP.
“The initiative is also proving to be an integral part of the integration process for the businesses we’ve acquired, providing new staff with tailored learning opportunities and ensuring we can share best practice.
“We’re proud to have made the shortlist and wish all the finalists the best of luck.”
This is the third time in a row that UAP has been recognised at the G Awards. After being shortlisted in three categories in 2021, UAP went on to be crowned Covid Business Hero of the year. In 2022, UAP was named a finalist in the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category for its S.E.E. scheme.
Considering social, economic and environmental factors, S.E.E goes above and beyond standard policies and accreditations such as ISO:14001. All staff are encouraged to come up with new ideas to help drive positive change with the support of nominated sustainability champions.
