Two decades in business
Double R Glass and Roofing Systems is celebrating 20 years in business in 2020.
Ian Sims, managing director of Double R, said: “We are extremely proud of Double R and all that it has achieved in the last 20 years. Of course, in that time we have seen economic and political highs and lows and closer to home the glass sector has been particularly turbulent of late with company closures still hitting the headlines.
“We have always taken the approach to keep our heads down and focus on ourselves and our customers to ensure we continue to supply the very best products with the very best service. It may sound clichéd, but it’s what customers really want, along with open and honest communication.
“We have grown steadily as a business since 2000 when we first opened the doors of our 1,500ft2 unit, and it seems fitting that this year we are investing significantly in a purpose-built facility to house our decorative glass and conservatory roof divisions, even closer to our IGU facility. This will ensure the teams already operating in our now 32,000ft2 of manufacturing space will be able to work more closely together and further improve efficiencies.”
Furthermore, seven new starters joined Double R’s production team in January to stay ahead of demand.
