Sternfenster has been shortlisted in four categories at this year’s G-Awards, recognising the trade fabricator’s strength in depth, as well as being a leading force in the discussions surrounding sustainability in the glass and glazing industry.

The four categories are: Training and Development of the Year; Sustainability Initiative of the Year; Unsung Hero of the Year; and Rising Star of the Year.

“Sternfenster is a forward-thinking dynamic business that invests in all areas of the business,” said managing director, Mike Parczuk. “This is evident in the awards we have been shortlisted for, which demonstrate how we put our people at the heart of everything we do, while developing leading sustainability initiatives for the future.

“I want to congratulate the whole team here at Sternfenster, because these shortlisted entries only scratch the surface of the hard work and commitment they show each and every day to make the best products with the best service for our customers.”

In October 2022, Sternfenster achieved IIP Gold, something only 23% of assessed businesses globally can claim. The company has now embarked on its ‘Pursuit for Platinum’, which – if achieved – will put it in the top 3% of all IIP-assessed companies.

“Making tomorrow better than today is a fundamental value at Sternfenster, and one that underpins training and development within the company,” Mike said. “It helped us achieve IIP Gold, and will support us on the IIP Platinum journey, which is our next milestone in 2025.”

Sternfenster has developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy, which influences every part of the business, including: manufacturing, waste, power generation, transport, customer engagement and knowledge sharing.

“Being sustainable is crucial for the success and longevity of Sternfenster and Starglaze,” Mike said. “By adopting sustainable practices, we can save costs, build a positive brand reputation, comply with regulations, attract and retain employees, and future-proof our operations. And we are determined to take our suppliers and customers with us.”

Technical support specialist, Kev Wallis, and retail operations manager, Brent Tromp, are both outstanding members of the Sternfenster team. Kev has been shortlisted for the Unsung Hero of the Year award, while Brent is a finalist in the Rising Star of the Year category.

“Both Kev and Brent have made outstanding contributions to the success of both Sternfenster and the retail division Starglaze,” Mike said. “It is an absolute privilege to see them shortlisted for the G-Awards.

“I also wish all shortlisted companies and individuals the very best of luck on November 24. I know the lengths that some businesses go to, to be the best they can be, and to make the industry a better place. So, whoever lifts the trophies on the night, I think we all benefit as a result.”
