Starglaze – Sternfenster’s installation division – recently completed an installation at the newly purchased home of Mr and Mrs Prestwood, near Lincoln.
Purchased in January 2023, the couple knew that they had urgent renovations to embark upon; first and foremost was the replacement of all their windows and French doors.
“We originally wanted timber windows to suit the heritage of the property,” said Mr Prestwood, “but there was always that nagging doubt in the back of our mind about the maintenance of timber.
“So, we shopped around with various different companies who had various different products, but when we met with Starglaze, we knew that we’d found the company for us.
“I think they had the best product on the market for looks.
“They knew their products inside and out and rather than a ‘hard sell’, they listened to exactly what we wanted and offered us choices that they felt suited our requirements. There was no pressure – the choice was completely ours.”
The Prestwoods settled for a complete reinstallation of all their windows to a flush PVC-U casement, along with French doors, offering increased energy efficiency and durability without compromising on the classic style that they were after.
“Despite the rather decrepit central heating system that we had inherited in the new house, we noticed a significant improvement in the energy efficiency of the house as soon as the new windows were fitted,” said Mr Prestwood.
Sternfenster’s StyleLine range of flush casement windows come with a WER of A as standard, with further enhancement available through the option of triple glazing. Double weather seals, low sightline gaskets and Super Spacer bars are designed to ensure ‘superb’ energy efficiency.

“Our service offering means that for installation teams, like in the case of Mr and Mrs Prestwood, the installer can not only demonstrate the products in real time, using the virtual showroom, but can then produce a quick quote to show to the homeowner in a professional and easy-to-understand format,” said Sternfenster’s sales director, Nathan Court.
“Then if the quotation is converted into an order, EasyAdmin allows the installer to do this effortlessly, with the order tracking fully visible throughout the process.”
Once the order is placed with Sternfenster, a delivery tracking service allows customers to have greater visibility of their orders, and can even provide a delivery window, which reduces costly waiting times when teams could be out fitting.
“Time spent on site is expensive,” continued Nathan. “If our customers know that we will be arriving on site in a two-hour window, it allows them to plan their day productively, either by scheduling time on another job, or by finishing on site early. Time spent unnecessarily waiting is wasted profit, so we are putting money directly in the pockets of our customers!”
