Growth plans

SolarFrame is increasing its retail footprint by opening a showroom in Leeds.

Based in the former Peacocks store in Kirkstall Bridge Shopping Centre, this 5,000ft2 premium retail space will be transformed to connect its digital and in-store customer journey.

Following a turnover in 2020/21 hitting the £25 million mark, managing director Will Hickman believes it is the right time to change the landscape of how the product range is showcased.

“Covid has brought many challenges but also many opportunities,” he said. “The way that people purchase has changed tremendously in the last 18 months. As well as investing heavily into our digital footprint, our new showroom in Leeds will be a hub of inspiration for homeowners throughout Yorkshire.

“Taking a retail space in a shopping centre and transforming into a state-of-the-art showroom is a bold move, but one we are confident will be just the start of our future growth plans.”

Opening in early 2022, the new showroom will employ five staff locally and other contractors, such as builders, electricians and installers. The showroom is the second to open for the company, and will sit alongside its outdoor show site at Goldthorpe, near Doncaster.
