Framex invests for growth and service

Aluminium specialist, Framex, has doubled its capacity with a new machining centre. The equipment forms part of an overall £400,000 investment as part of the firm’s plans for growth and will further enhance its offering and service for its customers.

Lancashire-based Framex manufactures and supplies aluminium windows, doors and commercial glazing at its Waterfoot facility. The Elumatec SBZ118 machining centre is the second CNC machine in 12 months for the site, which manufactures an average of 140 windows and doors per week.

Framex’s customer base includes architects, builders and property developers across the North of the UK, with the firm crafting windows and doors manufactured from Senior Architectural Systems profile as well as roof lanterns from Korniche.

Tim Mooney, Framex’s managing director, said: “Demand for our products is growing quickly so we decided to bring the investment forward to meet the needs of our customers. The Elumatec SBZ118 is a great piece of kit that makes production more precise and more efficient. It’s also compact and fast; just what we needed so that we could double up on our machining capacity.”

Tim added: “Framex prides itself on quality and service, and as we grow, we will continue to expand our facilities and portfolio for the benefit of our customers. Having the right equipment in place piloted by the right people means we can achieve fast lead times and exceptional service, every time.”
