Be well at Euroglaze

Barnsley based trade fabricator, Euroglaze, has taken a proactive approach to staff health and wellbeing by signing up to the BeWell@Work initiative run by its local metropolitan borough council. The workplace health initiative helps businesses identify their priorities and provides relevant training for key members of the workforce.

Euroglaze ran an employee survey which revealed particular concerns around heart health, so it has already instigated free, regular blood pressure checks at its factory. It has also begun sharing useful workplace health information with staff and signposting employees to external resources to support both mental and physical health.

Martin Nettleton, Euroglaze’s MD, commented: “Staff retention, recruitment and productivity are more important than ever at the moment. We already have very low levels of staff turnover, but if we can keep our staff even healthier and happier, then it’s a big win for the business. “

Euroglaze’s commitment to the BeWell@Work programme has already delivered a Bronze good practice award, and it is said to be on course to progress to further awards over the coming months.
