A Plus invests in new machining centre
Specialist trade fabricator, A Plus Aluminium, has invested in a new profile machining centre, an SBZ 140 from Elumatec UK.
The machine is installed at the company’s core manufacturing facility in Watford, swapping out one of the older machines and bringing the total back to five. According to A Plus, the replacement machine is already providing improved reliability and increased output.
While beneficial to all A Plus customers, the new SBZ 140 is said to be particularly rewarding for the company’s kit customers – those who purchase machined profile ready for assembly.
Joint managing director of A Plus Aluminium, Jon Palethorpe, commented: “This has been a key growth area for A Plus in recent years. Historically, some fabricators switched to kit supply due to the complex machining involved with the doors, and this was certainly the case for those without access to a CNC.
“However, now we are also seeing those who are changing the way they do things post-pandemic, and this has been exacerbated by the rising cost of energy and materials. Having the option to buy in kit form saves them time, resource and money.
“Overall, we are very pleased with the new machining centre and have quickly recognised the positive impact on production and customer satisfaction.”
Kenney Prunty, regional sales manager for Elumatec UK, said: “A Plus Aluminium is a long-standing key partner to Elumatec UK. They have known and trusted the brand for many years, so when it was time to add to their extensive fleet of Elumatec machines, naturally we were their supplier of choice.
“With Eumatec, they know that they aren’t just purchasing a CNC, they are investing in the complete package; machining that fits their needs, the skills and experience of the Elumatec team, training, ongoing maintenance and consumables’ support.”
