Surge in demand for Framepoint

Tommy Trinder has reported that 40 installation companies switched to its Framepoint app for their quoting in the first eight weeks of the year, making it one of the most buoyant periods in the firms’ three-year history.

Tom Barfield, business development manager for Tommy Trinder, said a changing market is behind the recent demand surge: “If you only just started in the window game in the last three years you don’t really know what it’s like to have to have to sell anything. But the times of throwing a quote out there and it boomeranging back as an order are over.

“Consumers were placing orders with ‘anyone who could deliver’. Now everyone can deliver, and customers are fewer. Installers are now looking for that competitive edge again.”

Tommy Trinder’s patented Framepoint Technology allows users to free draw PVC-U, aluminium and timber windows and doors with your finger or mouse, just like sketching on a pad.

Ironmongery, colour, and bar options can be visualised and priced in real time. Installers can show clients how their new windows and doors will look in situ.

But, according to Tom, it’s often one of Framepoint’s more simple features that drives demand: “Many installers that I speak to say that they simply want to improve the way their quotes are presented.

“Being able to easily generate clearly laid out, jargon-free quotes that feature photo-realistic inside and outside views of each product helps wow customers and win orders. And winning orders is what’s top of mind for installers just now.”

According to Tom, it’s not just new business that is fuelling growth. As the market cools, he said that existing subscribers are quoting more of their work through the platform. A record 19,000 quotes were prepared by installers via Framepoint in January alone, 40% up on January 2022.

“Installers are looking to shore up conversion rates and keep growth on track by bringing in tools that give them a competitive edge,” continued Tom. “As the market tightens, we’re expecting to see demand for Framepoint continue to strengthen.”
