New TWR Group factory to open in March

North East fabricator TWR Group has announced that its new 65,000ft2 headquarters in Sunderland is on track to open in March despite facing several unexpected challenges.

The move, which will bring TWR’s PVC-U and aluminium operations under one roof, has made significant progress in recent weeks, with new signage installed, a dedicated trade counter completed, and machinery installation underway.

TWR Group director, Laura Richardson, commented: “It’s incredible to see the site changing every day. While we’ve faced our share of challenges, including break-ins before Christmas and unexpected gas and water leaks, our family spirit has been instrumental in helping to share the load and keeping us moving forward.

“The completion of the new roof was a major milestone, albeit taking longer than expected, and since the building has been watertight we’ve been able to ramp up internal work significantly. All the PVC-U machinery has been moved and we’re manufacturing PVC-U in there now, with our aluminium side set to follow.”

The company is also making a substantial investment in a new machining centre worth over £300,000 scheduled for installation by the beginning of March.

“We’re now entering the most exciting phase of the project,” said Laura. “With the flooring now in place, we’re focused on creating stunning office spaces and an aluminium showroom that will truly wow our customers.

“I’d also like to thank Sign Lead for all their help and expertise; the signs look amazing and really make the new headquarters stand out from the road.”

The new facility is designed to streamline operations and delivery for customers, creating a ‘one-stop-shop’ for PVC-U and aluminium products.

Laura added: “We’re still on track for our March opening and we’re planning an open day for customers later in the year to experience our new headquarters firsthand.”
