Everglaze delighted with DoorCo

Wigan based Everglaze says it prides itself on ‘quality products and service delivery’, so when the company’s previous door supplier became increasingly unreliable with unreasonable lead times – including delays and damaged on delivery slabs that were impacting on customer experience –  it was time to look elsewhere.

Paul Bolton, branch manager at Everglaze, explains the decision to switch to DoorCo.

“We first met with the DoorCo team at the FiT Show earlier this year and after understanding their offering, we made the switch to them for our door supply shortly afterwards,” he said. “The difference between them and our previous supplier is incredible.

“With our previous supplier, we’d wait five to six weeks only for the order to turn up with issues – the colour sprayed across one order would differ, as they didn’t spray in house so would outsource items from one order to different paint companies.

“Things would arrive scratched, arrive way too early or after the window install had been completed.  It was causing problems for us and our installers and it was not leaving a very good impression with the homeowners either,” he continued. “We fit around 100 doors a month, so we were fed up of having so many issues to deal with that were beyond our control.

Moving heaven and earth

“Since making the switch to DoorCo, lead times on deliveries have halved and as DoorCo does everything in house, we no longer have any colour mismatching issues,” said Paul. “It’s not just the product delivery, but service delivery is spot on too.

“Wherever possible, DoorCo moves heaven and earth to keep customers happy. The team is really customer focussed and it shows. We have a DoorCo door designer on our website, which is bespoke to us, so we can deliver on our customers’ expectations.

“We find the tracking system useful as we can see at any time what stage in the process our order is at. Their frequent communications around delivery are really useful too and always accurate,” continued Paul.

“Our area sales manager, Amanda Shelley, is first-class in her role at DoorCo. Amanda can help with anything from ordering a door to visiting site should this ever be necessary. She’s not scared to get on the tools either! Amanda’s talents don’t stop with sales, this lady covers all areas to keep her customers happy!

“The past 12 months have seen us go from buying everything in to manufacturing in-house following a significant investment,” explained Paul. “Initially, we spent half a million pounds on setting this side of the business up, but we’ve since spent a further £250k upgrading our machinery, to now include a fully automated saw centre and a new welder as well as other things.

“This means we keep getting quicker and better. We are fully focussed on continuing with our ambitious plans for growth and are pleased to say we’ll be doing it with a reliable supplier like DoorCo supporting us into the future.”

Ben Aspinall, commercial director at DoorCo, concluded: “Everglaze is a fantastic example of how quickly we can work with a customer to turn operations around for their customers.

“Within just six months, we’ve helped them elevate their door business by offering reliable product quality, delivered on time with open communication from initial order, through to delivery.

“The fact that they are continually investing in their door operation is testament to the fact they want to do a great job for customers and we wish them every success with their continued growth.”
