Bespoke solution from Inagas

Inagas, which specialises in manual gas filling and testing equipment for the IGU market, has been working with longstanding customer, Slenderpane, to develop a bespoke gas filling machine, able to satisfy its unique production requirements.

A specialist in slimline unit production for the heritage market, Slenderpane was looking for gas filling technology able to keep pace with a complex offering – argon, krypton and mixed gas filled IGUs.

Dave Parker, general manager at Slenderpane, said: “A lot of companies that manufacture slimline units, do so using standard argon gas filling.

“But we know that our customers don’t always want the same thing. Some will be focussed on the lowest U-Value whilst others have cost as a key consideration. By manufacturing our units using argon, krypton and a mixed gases, we are able to satisfy every individual requirement.

“Using the latest technology enables us to be consistent with our high quality,” he continued. “We have had gas fillers from Inagas previously, but this upgraded version is a two line machine, with the Smart Start technology, which allows us to start and stop the fill at the unit as opposed to the machine. It’s simple to use with good functionality and allows us to offer that product flexibility, which our customers appreciate.

“Throughout the development and installation, Inagas has always been on the end of the phone should we have needed them, able to problem solve and get things right,” said Dave. The fact they worked with us on an individual basis in order to create something bespoke to our needs means this latest investment in gas filling technology will support our production requirements into the future.”

Chris Kemp, sales director at Inagas, commented: “Slenderpane has been an Inagas customer for almost 15 years, so when they approached us with their unique gas filling requirements, we wanted to be able to come up with a solution.

“The machine itself incorporates elements of our Interfill KX, Multifill-2 and Smartfill range and enables Slenderpane to change the gas being used as well as the flow rate and fill method in order to produce the exact specification IGU their customers need.

“It’s been interesting for us to work with them on this hybrid solution and we are delighted we successfully met the brief.”
