Anglo commits to fast lead times

Anglo has committed to reinstate lead times for all customers to as little as three-days from point of order, with a guaranteed weekly delivery.

Available for all leading PVC-U systems, in addition to the supply of full bar length, Anglo offers cut-to-size reinforcement supply.

It is committing to delivery in as little as three-days from point of order – but guaranteed delivery in either a four or five-day lead time, depending on location.

The commitment is made less than a month after the return of its former owner Paul Sullivan, who has rejoined the specialist supplier of galvanised reinforcements, with a mission to drive up service levels.

“We’ve done some fantastic work to introduce more controls to our manufacturing process, the product we’re supplying has never been better,” he said. “The flip side of that is that our service levels haven’t been as good as they should be.

“I’m now addressing that, and as a starting point I’d like to personally apologise for the levels of service that our customers have seen – and to make it clear that that is changed with immediate effect.”

Now part of the Amari Metals Engineering Group (AMEG), Paul headed the business from 1996 to 2022, following a three-year leave of absence he picked up the reigns at the steel roll-forming specialist in June.

Anglo customers can save anywhere up to £125,000 a year by buying-in cut-to-size reinforcements direct, rather than going through their systems companies and cutting their own product.

The figures based on customer modelling, reveal that larger fabricators, those manufacturing 1,500 frames plus, will comfortably save more than £75,000 a year in lower purchasing – but also manufacturing – costs.

With rising employment and energy costs putting even more pressure on fabricators, its research shows that even smaller customers should expect savings of around £30,000 a year, simply by buying reinforcement direct and an accompanying reduction in overhead.

National Insurance jumped from 13.8% to 15% in April. Combined with the increase to the National Living Wage, employing staff over the age of 21, even in an entry level position, now costs employers close to £30K per employee, significantly impacting their bottom line.

Paul continued: “I’ve been out of the industry for a little while but from the time I’ve spent on the road in last month, it’s very clear that service levels have dropped across the board with some steel roll formers offering 15-day lead times, if you’re a fabricator, that isn’t good enough

“I’m now personally committing to making sure that no Anglo fabricator has to wait more than five days for steel – that’s wherever they are in the UK.

“I’m also making a commitment that whatever you’re paying for reinforcement, we’ll beat it -guaranteed.

“We built a reputation as the fabricators’ friend and now we need to live up to it.”
