Winning trust and sales

As energy efficiency continues to drive window and door purchases, Deceuninck’s energy calculators play a key role in helping installers seal the deal.
As millions of UK households continue to grapple with unaffordable gas and electricity bills,
energy efficiency remains a decisive factor in consumers’ home improvement choices.
While aesthetics and functionality are key window and door sales drivers, consumers are also increasingly interested in products that can save them money – and not just when it comes to initial purchase price.
As the sales emphasis shifts from cost to value, homeowners are encouraged to consider long-term savings and comfort benefits. Fabricators and installers who can evidence strong energy efficiency performance hold a significant sales advantage as a result, as Darren Woodcock, general manager at Deceuninck explains.
“We’ve recently introduced Business Kit – a suite of sales and marketing tools designed to put energy performance data directly into the hands of fabricators, installers, and ultimately, homeowners – with positive results,” says Darren.
Central to this initiative is the Deceuninck Energy Ratings Calculator, a system designed to simplify and speed up the process of demonstrating window and door energy efficiency performance.
“Generating energy ratings in response to consumer enquires can often result in a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, repeated requests for missing information, or lengthy waits for calculations,” Darren explains.
“Our new Energy Ratings Calculator has made this whole rigmarole a thing of the past. It gives fabricators and installers instant access to UKAS-accredited U-value calculations, as well as BFRC and PLC window and door ratings, without having to rely on a third party to get the information they need.”
By selecting the frame, reinforcement, glazing configuration, and unit size, users can generate a verified energy performance report in seconds.
“We live in a very fast paced world, and people expect instant results nowadays,” adds Darren. “The calculator generates the required information on the spot. Not only is this more convenient, it also reinforces and accelerates the whole sales process.
“We all know it’s best to strike whilst the iron’s hot,” he continues, “and for homeowners struggling with energy costs, this kind of information can help to tip the balance from hesitation to purchase.”
Installers can switch from double to triple glazing, amend configurations, and instantly show a homeowner the difference in performance and cost savings.
Instead of vague estimations, customers are presented with solid data which demonstrates how a particular upgrade reduces energy use, lowers bills, and minimises their carbon footprint.
“Energy efficiency has always been a key sales driver and with the continuing cost-of-living crisis, it’s probably more relevant now than ever,” says Darren. “But homeowners need reassurance, and that’s exactly what they get with the Energy Ratings Calculator.”
In addition to the Energy Ratings Calculator, which provides technical proof of energy efficiency, Deceuninck has also launched an Energy Savings Calculator aimed directly at consumers, with a focus on saving hard cash.
Easy to navigate and quick to use, the Energy Savings Calculator analyses current energy prices to provide a potential energy cost saving each year.
This is complemented by an interactive 3D visualiser that lets users explore product options and finishes, bridging the gap between aesthetics and energy performance.
For fabricators and installers, every use of the calculator is tracked via a dedicated dashboard with CRM functionality for efficient lead follow-up.
“By making energy data instant, accurate, and consumer-friendly, we’re highlighting the role of our customers as partners in reducing household bills, through the supply of energy efficient products, such as our Flush Sash window,” says Darren.
“Our Ratings and Savings calculators don’t just make life easier for fabricators and installers; they provide the credibility and solid evidence that today’s cost-conscious consumers demand.”
