The gateway to more composite sales

By introducing a new, fully integrated online Door Designer tool, Emplas is supporting customers in taking full advantage of its complete composite door offer, providing another crucial edge in the lucrative – but competitive – composite door market.
When Emplas announced that it had expanded into a new 25,000ft facility, one that was dedicated to its composite door offer, it was a statement of intent from the Wellingborough based manufacturer that it was fully committed to providing its customers not just with high-quality products, it was also ready to support them with market leading service.
Emplas’ composite door production line, which has been fully operational since March last year and is part of a broader multi-million investment across the factory floor, has been built to accommodate the complete DoorCo product range.
This includes the foam-filled ORiGINAL Door Collection, top of the range GRiPCORE hybrid foam/timber door and the recently introduced, 44mm timber cored BRiTDOR, giving customers three, distinct products – and crucially – three different price points.
That gives Emplas customers the ability to present ‘good-better-best’ options to homeowners, but it is the introduction of an exclusive, online door designer tool that has really served to enhance the sales experience, as Jody Vincent, Sales Director, explains:
“There’s still a lot of demand for composite doors, but it is a mature market, one that can often be driven by price and installers feel that pressure when they’re with homeowners,” he says. “We know that we have to give them access to a broad range of high-quality doors, but we also have to provide them with a competitive edge.
“Our new configurator does that by supporting installers when they’re with a homeowner customer,” he continues. “Users can tailor a new composite door from a wide range of styles and finishes, including hardware and glass options to suit all tastes.”
When the homeowners are happy with their design, all an installer has to do is export the specification digitally to Emplas, where it will automatically be uploaded for manufacturing. It’s a process that removes any requirement for old fashioned paperwork, virtually eliminating any chance of errors, significantly enhancing efficiencies and raising customer service standards.
In addition to the new door designer, Emplas customers can also take advantage of the fabricator’s EVA CRM business management tool which has also been designed to streamline day to day operations for installers.
It’s a system that integrates directly with the Emplas EVA customer portal and allows users to access real time production insights while simplifying operational management.
While these digital innovations have been designed to increase productivity, Emplas has also worked hard to introduce tangible USPs for its composite door portfolio.
All doors in the range are available with high performance Avantis multi-point lever or autofiring locks, but they are also supplied ready to work with Kubu Smart Security sensors.
Emplas has also recently upgraded the hardware options for its doors, introducing the Classic range from Fab&Fix as standard across its PVC-U, patio and composite doors, which is available in a range of popular finishes and comes with a 10-year guarantee against defects and weather degradation.
The Ultion Sweet range from Brisant Secure is also now available as an optional upgrade, offering a distinctive, premium aesthetic and an impressive 20-year anti-corrosion guarantee.
“Security and style are two of the main priorities for homeowners when it comes to choosing a new front door, and we deliver that through the Avantis locks – which offer class performance – and the quality of the door furniture,” says Jody.
“When you combine that with the number of outstanding design options, and overall proven performance of the DoorCo range, it means our installer customers have a very attractive suite of composite doors to put in front of their homeowner customers.
“And with our new online Door Designer, they now have a slick, highly engaging and effective way to sell on all of those advantages, plus we have the systems in place to process subsequent orders as efficiently as possible.
“That means online ordering, 24/7, via our customer portal, digital order processing, deliveries that assigned two-hour slots and even real-time delivery tracking and 20-minute push notifications on arrival.
“It’s a complete service, from order to delivery, and means our customers have everything they need to gain a distinct advantage in the composite door sector.”
