Something for everyone

Hörmann has extended its range of premium steel and aluminium entrance doors with a new composite door offer from Truedor.

Hörmann is now offering a range of composite doors, bolstering its established product portfolio of steel and aluminium entrance doors.

The company will now be offering the Truedor range of doors, manufactured by its sister company IG Doors, and selling them through its own organisation under the Hörmann Truedor brand.

This move will enable Hörmann to offer a solution for each market sector; Hörmann Truedor, a competitive composite door; Thermo 46/65, a mid-range series of steel doors and a premium positioned aluminium option.

The Truedor range of composite doors has been manufactured by IG Doors at a purpose-built facility in Blackwood, South Wales for over 30 years. With the majority of doors slabs being imported, IG Doors says it is in the unique position of being the only supplier of GRP composite doors in the UK to manufacture its own door slab.

Being part of the Hörmann Group has enabled IG to invest in technology and expertise which ensures that product consistency is at the forefront of its operations, providing customers with the reassurance of the Hörmann guarantee of quality.

Installers will now have access to a comprehensive selection of composite doors backed by the Hörmann brand. This includes a new Clima63 thermal door range which offers a 63mm door slab that’s designed to provide excellent thermal insulation properties.

According to Hörmann, the Truedor range provides a high performance, low maintenance door, which is available in an extensive choice of styles, designs, glazing options, colour finishes and accessories.

Hörmann adds that the high performance Thermo46/65 steel and aluminium entrance doors offer the market ‘good looks, exceptional security, and impressive U-values’ with the ThermoCarbon aluminium range achieving a U-value of 0.47 W/m2k.

Manufactured from high grade components and featuring high security locking systems, both the steel and aluminium door ranges offer an extensive choice of styles, accessories, and finishes that are designed to appeal to the higher end of the market.

Thermo steel doors are constructed with door leaf widths of either 46mm or 65mm, whilst the aluminium range features the ThermoSafe door with a leaf width of 73mm or the ThermoCarbon door at 100mm. Both steel and aluminium doors are installed within an aluminium frame as opposed to either timber or PVC-U, making them very rigid and less prone to warping and twisting.

The aluminium frame is also said to provide an extremely firm fixing point for both locking and hinge systems, enhancing the security of the door. With both steel and aluminium being able to withstand higher temperatures, says Hörmann, the risk of thermal expansion and swelling in hot weather is reduced, providing end consumers with a more reliable door.

With styles ranging from modern and contemporary through to classic design options, Hörmann steel and aluminium doors are suitable for a wide variety of building styles. An XXL version is available in the aluminium range, allowing doors to be manufactured up to 3,000mm in height, providing an opportunity to supply a door that delivers flexibility and enhanced visual appeal.

Hörmann has developed an extensive range of colours and finishes, together with a large selection of door hardware and glazing options.

With smart enabled devices being used more widely in the home, Hörmann can also supply a complete package of automation options which have been specifically designed and developed to work with its entrance doors.

Door operation is available via radio buttons, finger scanners or a Hörmann BiSecur hand-held transmitter, whilst the Hörmann BlueSecur Bluetooth app provides control from a smart phone or a smart home system.
