Kevin Pearce joined Britannia Windows as trade sales manager at the start of the year. His responsibilities include driving new business and supporting existing trade customers in their growth.

“I have over 24 years of experience in the industry, focused mainly on window and door trade sales. When the opportunity to join Britannia arose, I was eager to join such a well-respected brand,” says Kevin.

Britannia is a second-generation family business that started as a trade fabricator over 40 years ago. Today, the company operates from its head office and 30,000ft2 manufacturing facility in Clevedon, Somerset run by CEO, Hayden Rushton.

Its primary area of operation is the South and South East of England, covering the entire region, with a focus on the M4/M5 corridor and extending into South Wales.

“With my knowledge and understanding of this region and the businesses operating here, I see great potential for growth.  Britannia is already a well-known name among local trade professionals,” continues Kevin.

Full range

One of the many benefits of partnering with Britannia is its comprehensive product range. Kevin explains: “We offer a wide range of products, including PVC-U flush casement windows, aluminium windows and an extensive selection of doors such as Liniar patio doors, PVC-U doors, French doors, and popular composite doors.”

Since 2019, Britannia has been using Distinction Doors’ GRP composite door slab, which, says Kevin, has received positive feedback from customers regarding its excellent quality. The doors are manufactured using a dedicated line operated by a skilled team. Britannia also offers an upgraded 3* Ultion lock and use SFS hinges as standard.

Britannia currently offers a good mix of traditional and contemporary door styles from the Distinction range which is said to be the biggest in the industry. So far this year, the Esteem ES02 has proven the most popular door style, followed by RR15 from the Rustic Renown Collection, and EC01 from the Eclat range.

As well as the door slab, Britannia also takes product from the Distinction glass range and utilises its in-house paint service.

Create pull with colour

“Colour is a growth area, there’s no doubt about that,” continues Kevin. “And with Distinction’s support we are confident that coloured doors will create a strong pull for new business. Doors are becoming more vibrant, as consumers choose more daring shades like Telemagenta RAL 4010. With access to the Distinction colour palette, we know our customers can meet the boldest of demands.

“The turnaround on products from Distinction is very good too,” he says. “This means we can offer our trade customers a competitive lead time which can make all the difference in securing an order and for scheduling jobs.”

Britannia also takes advantage of Distinction’s marketing support, particularly for product sales aids like door corner samples and the colour guides.

Welcome new business

“For me, anybody can be a composite door customer – they are a great complementary product. They go together with both PVC-U and aluminium windows. This makes them a perfect add-on for our trade customers.

“And with Distinction’s support and our ability to scale up, we are keen to make the most of new business opportunities across the Southern England and Wales,” concludes Kevin.
