Gearing up for growth

Along with a future-proofed approach to product development and an expanding manufacturing facility, David Pickering, managing director at Glideline, talks about being at the forefront of supplying demand for aluminium.
Looking back over the past 12 months, the peaks and troughs we’ve faced as an industry have been difficult to predict. Plus, with some design preferences changing, and trends being cemented among homeowners, staying ahead of the game is a never-ending challenge, but one we’ve risen to at Glideline.
With over a decade of installer-first experience, we’re tuned in to how our customers operate, the problems they face, and the products they need to make their job easier and more profitable. Whether it’s the fight to ‘go slimmer’ on sightlines, finding ways to reduce heating bills, or finding products that will last, homeowners know what they want more than ever before – so it’s up to us to make sure installers are equipped to meet that demand.
The search for optimum performance, in both specification and design, has meant aluminium has become the market leading material, and we’ve seen that both internally and across the industry. While last year we saw enquiries for our aluminium sliding doors surge by more than 40%, industry data shows us that almost 90% of installers now include aluminium glazing within their offering.
The real value and differentiator of supplying aluminium lies in providing installers with an armoury of support that will help them get those jobs across the line – and this is our top priority at Glideline. Coupled with our installer-first ethos, our future-proofed approach to product development has meant we can supply unique products that go far beyond homeowner expectations.

Whether it’s the slimmest sliding door in the world, ultra-low U-values or enhanced security – our suite of aluminium glazing has helped get installers ahead in a competitive market.
Reaping the rewards
Our belief in helping our customers is an ethos we work tirelessly to fulfil for every single one of our customers, and we know from first-hand feedback this is what they value the most.
Our aluminium solutions have been designed for the long term, offering substantial sustainability benefits and ultra-low U-values, with the technology to future-proof homes while being able to cater to the on-trend modern minimalistic style.
Our ability to deliver slimline aluminium systems that accurately combine innovative design with the same performance has resulted in consistent growth for us over the past 12 months. To ensure we can continue servicing that demand, we’ve recently expanded our Great Yarmouth factory to 30,000ft2 – three times bigger than our current facility.
The move also means that while we’re still able to uphold the same level of service and support for our customers without compromising on quality, we can continue innovating to meet growing demands for greater energy efficiency, slimmer sightlines and changing design trends – all while keeping customers at the forefront of the aluminium revolution that shows no signs of slowing down.
