Colour your customers happy

Demand for colour is increasing as homeowners, businesses and architects look to make their properties and projects stand out from the crowd.

In the past, colour options for PVC-U have been very limited. While ‘standard’ white windows and doors worked for many buildings, the development of foiled product has made it much easier to create a bespoke, modern or heritage look.

Investment in colour

With a choice of up to 3,224 different colour combinations including woodgrain effects and smooth to the touch matt or aluminium-style finishes, innovation and investment is said to remain at the forefront of everything that Liniar does.

Liniar extrudes PVC-U profiles from high quality, lead-free materials in five different coloured substrates or bases (depending on the product range).

In 2020, the company invested in a fully automated Luna R automatic profile wrapping machine from Italy. Due to the ‘unprecedented’ success of its ‘Made to Order’ service, Liniar will be investing a further £1.5 million in an additional Luna machine to increase capacity and ensure that the ongoing rapid growth in demand for bespoke colour and finish options can be easily met.

In addition, Liniar has further invested in its colour range by ensuring consistent stock levels of foils including a wide range of foil logs that are stored in Derbyshire, ready to create ‘Made To Order’ profiles.

Authentic heritage style

The Liniar Resurgence window range, a flush sash timber-alternative, has the option to be foiled on both faces and internally to give a truly authentic look even when open. To create a heritage look that can meet the requirements of conservation and listed building status, Liniar has a range of woodgrain and heritage colours that are perfectly suited to give a realistic wood finish whilst helping the building’s overall thermal efficiency.

Customer choice

Colin Sharpe, Liniar’s business service director, explains why the company will continue to invest in offering a wide range of colours.

“From the inception of Liniar as a systems house, we recognised the importance of colour choice. When we launched our first 70mm chamfered profile, we knew that it was important for fabricators to offer customers a range of colours and finishes with the confidence that the stock would be available.”

“Having an in-house lamination department from the outset has been key to offering such a wide range of colour and finish choices. With an initial stock of two foils, the range has been substantially increased to take in market trends whilst also offering bespoke products.”

“The colours and finishes we offer are constantly reviewed to ensure that we can meet customer and industry demand, which includes adding new colours such as Agate Grey to our standard stocked range. The investment in the additional Luna machine will further cement Liniar’s position as the UK’s leading PVC-U systems house by offering one of the industry’s shortest lead times for bespoke foiled profiles.”

Flexibility and certainty

By increasing the number of stocked colours and finishes offered, Liniar says that it is further ensuring the ‘very best’ customer service. The company adds that it prides itself on offering consistent quality and excellent communication so that customers can sell confidently to their clients, safe in the knowledge that the required coloured profiles are available or can be foiled in the specified timeframe.
