At the cutting edge

Vetro Tooling is well known in the glass and stone industry, not only for providing tooling but for having its own state-of-the-art workshop and engineering team at its premises.

In 2019, the company partnered with two leading Italian machinery manufacturers, Denver Glass and Stone Machinery and Zafferani Glas and has since gone from strength to strength, building up its team of field engineers and machinery division.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Vetro Tooling prides itself on the quality of its service, particularly the strength of its service offer on breakdowns and aftercare.

Elite solution

Vetro Tooling has recently installed a Denver Advance vertical CNC into Glass Designs, London.  Glass Design prides itself on always being at the forefront of developments, and the Advance Vertical CNC is the perfect machine to fulfil the growing and ever-changing demands of their customers.

Gerry McDonnell, director of Glass Designs, said: “A big part of the decision to invest in the Advance Elite machining centre as our main production machine was down to the trust we have in Vetro Tooling after years of partnership.

“We visited Vetro’s showroom and after seeing the Advance Elite in action we knew this machine would be perfect for our production requirements. We are now running our new Advance at full capacity and we’re very happy with the service and aftercare.”

Vetro Tooling was the first company to introduce the Advance CNC to the UK glass industry and it is now said to be one of its best-selling machines.

The Advance Series of vertical CNCs is the latest innovation from machinery specialist, Denver, and according to Vetro Tooling, represents a modern alternative to the horizontal working centre, offering the advantage of integrated opposing drilling and reduced overall dimensions.

Vetro is now offering a new addition to Denver’s range of glass machinery. The Surface is a new vertical CNC machining centre for fast and accurate drilling, milling, and countersinking on already edged glass.

With unparalleled quality on finishing combined with quick processing times, the Surface is said to be ‘a must have’ machine. Designed for ease of use, operators are free to drill and mill almost anywhere on each piece of glass.

The Surface will be on show at the Glasstec exhibition in Dusseldorf this September on Denver’s stand.

Vetro Tooling has moved into a purpose-built premises in Laindon, Essex, improving its offices, workshops, stores and expanding its machinery division with a machine showroom and training rooms.

The company says that confidence in software is key to getting the most out of machinery and it now has the facilities to train operators before installation if required, helping to ensure that its customers can benefit from their investment as quickly as possible.

Customers are invited to Vetro Tooling’s showroom for personalised demonstrations on a range of glass machinery that includes centrifuge, vertical washing machines, edging machines and a CNC work centre.
