Effective marketing can open up exciting opportunities for an organisation. One fenestration business using this commercial discipline to supercharge the next chapter in its already impressive success and growth is Unique Window Systems. Sunil Patel, managing director at the company, explains more.

Since Unique was formed close to 20 years ago, we’ve seen strong and sustained success, and the last few years in particular have seen us enjoy exponential growth.

In fact, from 2020 to 2022, our turnover has almost doubled, surging from £20.8 million to £39.2 million, winning us widespread recognition in the form of various business growth awards.

Despite these achievements however, we’re still hungry and have ambitious plans for the short, medium, and long term future.

We’ve much more to offer our customers and the wider industry, and marketing remains instrumental in helping us to communicate that.

A new look for a new chapter

Never a company to do things by halves, Unique’s increased focus on marketing has recently entailed a full rebrand.

Our previous visual identity has served us well on our journey to date, but times change, design styles change, and, as a business, we know it’s important to change with them.

Working closely with marketing consultancy and fenestration industry specialists, WeBuildBrands, we wanted to develop a brand that reflects who we are today.

One that epitomises our position as a large, quality-focused, and highly professional fabricator of UPVC and aluminium windows, doors, and curtain walling.

In short, we wanted to develop a strong look to mirror our equally strong offer.

Our new brand identity delivers that and will help to ensure good levels of recognition for Unique as we embark on the next chapter in our ongoing success story.

Bringing the brand to life

Rebranding a business is a major undertaking but for Unique it’s just the start. With this major piece of marketing real estate now in place, we are currently making good progress with a number of other significant projects.

Specifically, we’ll be launching a new website soon. Far from simply being a rebadged version of our existing online presence with its appearance tweaked to reflect our new identity, it will be a completely new site offering increased content and enhanced functionality.

As a result, it will make it easier than ever before for people to explore our large and continually growing product range as well as to research other useful information such as case studies and company news.

This online portal will also be complemented by a new brochure. Again, this raises the bar and is our biggest brochure to date. It will prove valuable to our customers both as a source of reference and as a sales tool which they can use with the homeowner.

A centre of excellence

Staying with the subject of sales support, our commitment to marketing also manifests itself in the form of a dedicated show centre.

Located adjacent to our UPVC and aluminium fabrication facilities in Leicester, this show centre allows homeowners to view a full range of products including windows and doors from well-known brands like Eurocell, AluK, WarmCore and Cortizo. We also have an area dedicated to our very own and increasingly sought after Unifold bi-folding door system.

Our customers can attend this show centre with their prospective clients and use it as an additional, on-tap resource. Alternatively, they can send the homeowner along unaccompanied, and we’ll take care of everything on their behalf before passing any potential sale back to the customer.

Our show centre has recently seen additional investment to maximise its relevance and benefits. To highlight these enhanced capabilities, we’ve created a new video which can be viewed by scanning the QR code shown.

Plus, we’ve further exciting marketing developments and initiatives in the pipeline.

As a business, continuous improvement, entrepreneurialism, and exploring new possibilities are all part of our DNA. This applies as much to our approach to marketing as it does to any other area of our operations.
