Epwin Window Systems gears up for the GMF 100 cycling challenge
Epwin Window Systems’ six-man team is undertaking final preparations before taking part in GM Fundraising’s GMF 100 cycling challenge on Sunday 8th August. The charity event will raise vital funds for Hope House Children’s hospices, which provides palliative care for children with life-limiting conditions and support for their families.
Between them, the team members will cycle 100 miles, starting and finishing from Epwin Window Systems’ headquarters in Telford, Shropshire.
The Epwin Window Systems team will be lining up alongside 85 other riders from twelve industry companies who will all be taking on the team challenge from their respective head offices.
The event is being sponsored by Epwin Window Systems. Clare O’Hara, Managing Director of Epwin Window Systems, said: “It’s been a challenging 18 months for Hope House Children’s Hospices during the Covid pandemic with various fundraising events either being postponed or cancelled. We are therefore delighted to be able to sponsor this new event and submit a team of keen riders to help raise some much-needed funds for the charity.”
The Epwin Window Systems six-man team includes Ray McGrady, Commercial Projects Director; Gerald Allen, Marketing Manager; Rob Hartill, Commercial Director – Safeware; Paul Booth, Aluminium Design Director; Richard Talbot, Warehouse & Distribution Team; Matt Taylor, Non Conformance and Graeme Colls, Product Development Manager.
Gerald Allen, Marketing Manager at Epwin Window Systems, said: “Having been previously involved in the ‘From Russia to Hope’ GM Fundraising challenge I am aware of the level of discipline needed. The whole team are putting in the training and even though it’s a lot of miles to cover in one day, knowing the reason why you are doing it really pushes you on.”
Fundraising for the event is now open and donations for Team Epwin Window Systems can be made at

The mission of Hope House Children’s Hospices is to ensure that no one should face the death of a child alone. It costs £6.5 million every year to run its services and 86% of this is spent on care. Over 95% of Hope House’s annual costs are met through charitable donations and GM Fundraising is its largest single donor. Since it was established in 1995, GM Fundraising has raised over £2 million for Hope House Children’s Hospices.
Gary Morton, GM Fundraising’s founder, said: “We would like to thank Epwin Window Systems for sponsoring this new event and we wish all the teams the very best of luck. The money raised will mean so much to Hope House Children’s Hospices at this time.”
