Time to celebrate

There’s much to look forward to at this year’s G Awards, which will be roughly 48 hours away by the time this week’s newsletter lands in your inbox.

For starters, we have a new venue for 2022. The Intercontinental is an equally glamorous location, only a stone’s throw from the event’s regular haunt at the Hilton on Park Lane and promises a welcome change of scene for G Award regulars.

Secondly, there is a record number of entries for the G22s, up 40% on 2021 according to event organisers.

That’s reflected in the volume of businesses represented in the blue ribbon categories, with seven in the running for Fabricator of The Year, four companies up for Installer of the Year and five hoping to come away with the best New Product.

The G Awards are always a superb opportunity to recognise the hard work, innovation and talent that the industry has to offer, and after yet another challenging year, I’m very much looking forward to being a part of the G22 celebrations.

And talking of celebrations, there were cheers all round at Lincolnshire fabricator Sternfenster recently, as the company finally achieved its Investors in People Gold status.

Any company worth its salt will recognise that its people are its most important asset and this certainly rings true at Sternfenster, which now sits in the global top 23% of all IIP businesses.

Keep your eyes peeled for the full story in the December issue of Glass Times magazine…

In the meantime, the very best of luck to all the G22 finalists from myself and all the team here at GT!
