And the winner is…

Glass Times editor Nathan Bushell congratulates deserving winners.

Five stories this week are about companies winning individual awards, which has got to be a record for the Glass Times bulletin.

CMS has been named the winner of the Best of Vibes Award, recognising the long-term contribution it has made to Scotland’s sustainable development; Swisspacer has won a Passive House Innovation Award; Rehau had its Geneo range of fibre-reinforced windows named Product of the Year; SGP has received the Eaton Smith Business of the Month Award; and VBH extended its recent run of success by winning the Product Innovation category at the Medway Business Awards.

Furthermore, the winners of the prestigious British Woodworking Federation (BWF) Awards 2019 were revealed at a recent celebration held at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London. Companies involved in the manufacture and supply of timber windows and doors were among the winners, including Allan Brothers, West Port Timber Windows and Doors, GE Door Manufacturing; and Gowercroft Joinery.

I think it is reassuring that it is in our nature not only to reward excellence but to seek affirmation that what we are doing is the best it can be.

Yes, there are marketing opportunities for those deserving enough to pick up a gong, but simply going through the application process to distil what you think makes your company a winner demonstrates that you are proud of what you have achieved.

It is with this in mind that we descend on the London’s Park Lane Hilton on Friday to celebrate what this industry has to offer at the G19 Awards.

Good luck to all the shortlisted entries – having helped to compile the awards brochure I know that the judges will have had a very tough time choosing the winners.
