Listers launches exclusive smart hook and shoot-bolt window lock

Listers has added a new high-performance bi-directional hook and shoot-bolt window lock from Avantis to its range.

Called ‘Superior’, it is PAS24 and Secured by Design accredited, engineered to withstand more than 4.5 kilonewtons of end load and is built around a unique bi-directional gearbox.

Combined with the largest bi-directional locking hooks of any window lock, reinforced keeps, plus high tolerance and adjustable mushroom cams, the next generation locking mechanism delivers an enhanced level of security, compression and weather sealing.

Tested to 50,000 cycles and backed by a 10-year guarantee, it also fully integrates with Kubu, the smart home security system, giving end-users real time updates on the status and security of their homes as Roy Frost, managing director of Listers explained:

Roy continued: “Even without the Kubu integration, it’s one of the best window locks available. With it, the Avantis Superior lock delivers a new set of end-user benefits, including real time notifications on the status of windows straight to their phone, through the Kubu smart home hub and app.

“We’re setting new standards of performance and end-user expectation.”

Smart enabled, the Avantis Superior lock uses the new Kubu floating window sensor. This determines if the window is opened, closed, secure or on a vent setting. It also sends an alert to end-users if the window is forced or under attack.

Kubu can also be fully integrated with other devices, including Amazon Alexa or Google Nest, as part of a complete smart home ecosystem.

“We already offer Kubu across our Gallery44 composite door range, so the addition of the Superior Kubu enabled lock is complementary and allows our customers to pitch a complete smart home solution,” Roy added.

He continued: “What our customers are getting, regardless of if they choose to promote Kubu or not, is a very ‘smart’ locking system, which has been intelligently engineered to deliver an enhanced level of security, while also guaranteeing through-life performance.

“It gives our customers a new platform to sell on PAS24, Secured by Design, and, or smart. That’s a great story for retail.”
