Charity challenge
Window Ware staff are taking part in the 2.6 Challenge, established following the cancellation of the London Marathon.
Sue Ryder hospices, which provide end-of-life care to thousands of people, is among the many charities struggling to raise funds during the coronavirus lockdown.
Its shops, a hugely important source of income, have been forced to close, and major fundraising events like the London Marathon have been cancelled or postponed.
Given the nationwide shortage of gloves, facemasks and other personal protective equipment, Window Ware has already donated its, with trade counter assistant Andrew taking round 80 boxes of gloves and the company’s last box of facemasks to its local Sue Ryder hospice in Moggerhanger.
The firm is also encouraging staff to fundraise at home by taking part in the 2.6 Challenge, and Window Ware staff have been coming up with inventive ways to raise money for Sue Ryder.
