Heritage machinery package

West Midlands fabricator Central RPL, has recently invested in a heritage machinery package from Haffner Murat.

Gary Morton, managing director of Central RPL, said: “The heritage market is one of the biggest growth areas at the moment. Haffner Murat’s heritage machinery package allows us to help our customers tap into this demand as well as deliver the quality we’re renowned for.”

The heritage machinery package includes a specialist milling station that mills two joints in one operation. The 45º and 90º milling and sawblade cutting is carried out in one pass for the butt joint finish of the outer face. The plc-controlled milling station has three servo motors to ensure greater accuracy of the final position.

The package also includes a KC258/HL two-head corner welder that recreates the traditional mechanical butt joint on the welded corner, and creates an internal weld that enhances the overall appearance of flush sash windows. There are also dedicated contour blocks to ensure accurate welding, and a dedicated setting plate for butt joint location.

“After a conversation with Dave about our requirements it was clear he understood what we wanted to achieve and the equipment we needed,” Gary said. “Our flush casement windows mimic the traditional appearance of period windows, while offering superb energy efficiency. They offer the perfect solution for planners in areas protected by conservation orders. The simple lines and proportions also mean they have masses of potential in more modern buildings too. All this while retaining the integrity of a welded product”.
