New-build social house development

300 Flush Tilt and Turn Windows were specified in the development of 22 one-bedroom and 16 two-bedroom flats in Cricket Hill Road, Sheffield.

Formerly the site of a social club, the site was secured for a development of a social housing apartment block.

The development required 300 windows, all with demanding specifications due to the hilltop location. The contract for the work was awarded to Jade Windows, thanks to a positive track record of working on previous projects with the development’s main contractor.

The Spectus Flush Tilt and Turn Window was designed to prevent the framework from overlapping to give a more flush appearance. In this project, the sleek look of the windows, combined with a slate grey on smooth colour, created the appearance of an aluminium window but at a more sympathetic price point, Spectus said.

The window features a high-performance centre seal system with optional third weather seal, and can achieve a Window Energy Rating of A++ with double glazing and a U-value of 0.8W/m2K with triple glazing. Finally, 6mm toughened glass was specified to ensure maximum safety for the residents.

Jade Windows liaised with the project contractors and all trades on site to ensure window fabrication and installation ran as smoothly as possible.
