Moat appeal

Twenty weeks into its window and door replacement framework for Moat, The Window Company (Contracts) has completed its 500th installation – and presented chocolates and flowers to the lucky customer.

The specialist commercial installer is working on Moat properties throughout Essex, London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex as part of the current programme, with average KPI scores on the project running at 9.9/10.

This is the first time that Moat has undertaken its window and door repairs via a specialist company rather than via a main contractor.

The Window Company (Contracts) estimates that over the course of the programme, it will be able to install windows and doors in around 270 extra properties, thanks to the additional spend which has been freed up.

The company has implemented a number of new systems on the project, including a new tablet-based electronic reporting system to monitor outputs, quality and health and safety on site, and generating reports from these for review at interim progress meetings.

There are also plans to link these to Moat’s own IT set up so that live updates and reporting can be made available.

This project has also been selected by the Chelmsford-based installer as the first site for installation of a new 30-minute fire door.

David Thornton, chairman of The Window Company (Contracts), said: “We’re making better use of the client’s budget while still achieving almost perfect KPI scores. From Moat’s perspective, that’s an ideal outcome.”
