Care comes first

A residential care home in Stoke-on-Trent has recently been refurbished to provide state-of-the-art care facilities for its NHS patients.

Main contractors Sandycroft Construction specified Kestrel Aluminium Systems’ products for all the glazing requirements, and fabricator, 5 Star Windows completed each part of the job in accordance with a tight schedule.

The project required a mix of different systems: commercial doors and framing, curtain walling and a window suite.

The versatile commercial door and framing was used for the main entrances, creating single and double door entrances to allow for easy access as well as louvred ventilation doors.

The doors were installed in the curtain walling, which spans the height of the building. Insulated colour co-ordinated panels were also used to infill and mirror the panels installed between the two floors.

All the rooms have been fitted with thermally efficient windows, which achieve lower U-values by using high-specification glass. All open out casement windows were fabricated with trickle vents and restrictor hinges.

Sales manager John Treagust said: “We are pleased that our customers can rely on the service and support that Kestrel Aluminium Systems provide to deliver the material on time and in full to complete a project to a strict schedule.”
