Beach front development

Hardware from blu has been selected for a £multi-million beachfront development in Cornwall.

A range of the company’s 316 marine grade stainless steel hardware was fitted to eight, two and three storey beach lodges at the Carbis Bay Hotel, just outside St Ives. Featuring spacious open-plan lounges with multiple floor-to-ceiling lift and slide doors leading to private sun decks and sea-facing balconies, blu hardware was selected to counter the threat of corrosion.

Contracts coordinator Adam Tolman from Exeter-based Harmony Profiles, which manufactured the aluminium glazing products, said: “When you looked at the quality, location and style of the development we needed a solution that not only offered faultless performance for the multiple lift and slide doors featured in the lodges, but that really looked at home on such a quality development.

“But not only did it need to be aesthetically right, it had to withstand the high corrosive salt environment. There really were only one or two hardware manufacturers in the market that could meet the brief and blu was the obvious choice.”

Manufactured from 316 marine grade stainless steel, the blu range of door and window hardware comes with a lifetime guarantee. They are designed to withstand the elements and thrive even in the most corrosive environments.
