Two-decade partnership

Stockton-on-Tees-based Almark marked the 20th anniversary of its partnership with Rehau by redoubling its commitment to providing high-quality solutions for the booming residential self-build market.

Almark has specialised in the fitting of premium windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries since the company was established in 2001.

Managing director Mark Brudenell said: “Almark was founded in response to the shoddy installations I was seeing when coming into new projects. I’d see these low-quality fittings and just thought to myself – I can do better. With that in mind, I sought out a colleague who specialised in double-glazing and asked him which polymer supplier had the best windows on the market. He was quick to say Rehau, so I was keen to see what they had to offer and build a company from there.”

The vast majority of Almark’s work comes from high-end self-build housing in the Teeside area, with Rehau’s products proving a particular selling point.

“The market to supply windows, doors and conservatories to premium self-builds in Teeside is based on word-of-mouth,” Mark said. “So, alongside providing excellent customer service, being able to fit excellent, high-performing frames is a huge priority, and we’re guaranteed that with Rehau as our sole supplier. This has especially been the case since the events of the last year-and-a-half, where demand for home builds and improvements have rocketed, so the stability Rehau could offer was greatly appreciated.

“In fact, throughout our 20 years with the company, everything has always run smoothly – we’ve never had any problems with products and enjoy a great relationship with the team.”
