Slim sightlines and big views

Exlabesa has launched Xlaslide, a sliding door that has been designed to tap into demand for luxury home improvement products that blur the lines between home and garden.

It’s easy to manufacture and install, and feedback has already been extremely positive from both fabricators and end users, the company said.

Delivering slim sightlines, the twin or triple-tracked Xlaslide door can support panes up to 200kg, and offers a smooth action thanks to its heavy-duty adjustable rollers.

Its slim 32mm interlock section delivers unobstructed views, and its traditional beading allows for on-site glazing, and makes replacing broken units quicker.

It offers good thermal efficiency, typically achieving U-values of 1.5W/m2K with a 1.0W/m2K centre pane value.

Xlaslide also suites with other offerings in the company’s range; it can be easily coupled with 75mm systems to provide fixed or opening sidelights, for example, and uses beads and gaskets from the 75 and 51 ranges to help reduce stockholding.

“Aluminium sliding doors are one of the defining products of the last few years,” Exlabesa’s sales director Kevin Warner said.

“Homeowners love their sleek aesthetics, large glazed areas, and ability to let in more light and offer panoramic garden views. Characteristics that have made them especially popular this year, after lockdown confined millions of people inside for several months.

“We’ve designed Xlaslide to help fabricators meet this growing demand with a product that excels on all fronts, but still comes at a competitive price.

“We’re confident that Xlaslide will go on to be extremely successful in the UK, and that, combined with our Xlafold bifold, it gives us one of the best high-end aluminium door ranges on the market.”
